According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a device and technique for impact detection includes an impact indicator having a housing enclosing a detection assembly configured to detect an acceleration event. Responsive to detecting the acceleration event, the detection assembly causes a change in the switch circuitry, wherein the change in the switch circuitry causes a change in a value output by the RFID module when activated.
